Immersion heaters, heat pump, wallbox – intelligently managed

The DeltaTherm® PV MAX is a real allrounder: It detects excess PV current and distributes the current available in a modulating manner to up to 3 electric immersion heaters with a total power of 9000 W, controls an SG-ready heat pump and a charging station for electric vehicles as needed. 2 further loads with constant powers up to 30 kW can be controlled via auxiliary relays. Priority and time control of every single load can be freely adjusted, the same goes for the time- and temperature-controlled use of mains current. Household power always remains the top priority and grid conformity is ensured.

Converting excess current into heat has many advantages – water, as a storage medium, is cost-effective, resistant to ageing, non-flammable and has an indefinite shelf life. The thermal capacity of a 1,000-litre buffer tank, at around 80 kWh, is significantly higher than that of most battery storage systems. The heat can be stored for several days, thereby reducing the use of fossil fuels. This is how to achieve the hat trick: increase self-consumption, cut costs, reduce CO2 emissions.

There is a special function designed for use with a solid fuel boiler, meaning that a combined biomass and photovoltaic system can be used to manage the complete energy supply independently of fossil fuels. Numerous optional functions can be activated with extension modules, making the DeltaTherm® PV MAX even more versatile.

Versatile connectivity

With its integrated web server for the quick connection to VBus.net visualisation portal and interfaces for manufacturer-independent read-out of energy meters and inverters it has a broad range of connectivity options. Connection to a building management system is also easily achievable – the DeltaTherm® PV MAX masters the common BACnet/IP and Modbus/TCP communication protocols.



Whether in new or existing buildings, the DeltaTherm® PV MAX is suitable for all grid-connected PV systems. By means of the sensor module, the current is measured directly in front of the building’s energy meter. Household power always remains the top priority.



Intelligently distributing the excess current available, the DeltaTherm® PV MAX optimises self-consumption and enables more independence from fossil fuels. As a positive side-effect, this also reduces the load on the electricity grid by reducing the amount of power fed into it at peak times.
